Transocean: Limit Our Liability to $27 Million. Lawyers at Transocean Ltd., the Swiss company that owns the Deepwater Horizon drilling rig that burned and sank last month in the Gulf of Mexico, have stumbled over an obscure maritime law, and are using it to claim Transocean's liability should be capped at $27 million.
